Rishikesh is located on the banks of holy river Ganga, in the state of Uttarakhand in Northern India. The place is also known as the Gateway to Himalaya. Rishikesh is part of Dehradun district and is surrounded by Haridwar, Tehri and Pauri Garwal district.

Reaching Rishikesh By Air: Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport to Rishikesh at a distance of 21 km. Taxis are easily available from the airport to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is well connected to Delhi with daily flights. Deccan Airlines runs flights to Rishikesh thrice a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Delhi.

Reaching Rishikesh By Road: Rishikesh is well connected by roads with Northern states of India and Uttarakhand. It is situated on National Highway 58 that connects Badrinath. Luxury and regular buses for Rishikesh are readily available from Delhi ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Chandigarh, Manali, Shimla, Agra and Meerut (U.P.).
Taxis are also easily available from Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri, Uttarkashi etc.
